Past Jewish Art Workshop: Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters Giving Tuesday Event December 2013
The MEM Project collaborated with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters as part of their Giving Tuesday Event. This Young Adult Painting Party offered volunteers the opportunity to connect with each other and give back to JBBBS by creating collaborative artwork that will hang in the JBBBS office to welcome visitors. The 6' x 6' tile mural was created in just two hours, and includes 36 separate pieces that combine to create a larger whole. The image represents what the agency means to all those involved. You will see 12 people around, almost in the shape of a clock. These 12 people represent the time volunteers give to the agency and their Little Brother/Sister or Friend. They also represent the JBBBS community and are painted in green to highlight the growth that occurs both for the volunteer and their Little or Friend as their relationship develops. The new tagline - Friendship: The Next Big Thing can be found in the middle with two people linking arms as the center. Each individual tile was designed by event participants and represents their individual experience with the agency - We hope everyone will have the opportunity to see the amazing artwork in person.
