Past Jewish Art Workshop: CJP CHAI Society June 2011
The MEM Project collaborated with Combined Jewish Philanthropies to facilitate a community art workshop at the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly in Brighton. We engaged members of the CHAI Society in creating collaborative art by participating in a community tile project with the residents of the housing program. Together, participants brainstormed the theme of Tikkun Olam, developed their creative talents, and dialogued about what it means to volunteer and help "heal the world." The completed tile mural (made up of over 100 tiles!) is permanently installed outside the Community Room at the elderly residence.
